Fine Art

Fine Art

fine artWhen we think of fine art we the of art that is pleasing to the eye, relating to us on an emotional level or of art which has stature and value.

When you look up the definition to the word “FineArt” within the first paragraph you read “art developed primarily for its aesthetics or beauty”. Fine art can range from art, music, crafts, fashion, home decor and landscaping.

The more prominence that you give to your creation the more it is seen as fine art.

When you begin to integrate your love for beauty by creating a theme around you, you begin to show your very essence and creativity. Learning to cultivate your worlds such as your business, home, and office you create a cohesive statement about yourself.

Creating a theme that flows from one to the other conveys someone in complete balance and harmony which comes from with and is expressed by its surrounding, much like the even flow created when using Feng Shui as shown in the Spruce.

Once you recognize that your environment is a direct expression of you, a new desire is born to manifest a cohesive story.

Vibrant or pastel colors, floral designs and arrangments, cobble stones and bedding, wall coverings and patios share an insight into who you are.

When we hire a decorator or a designer we are hiring them to create this very image. We are asking them to create a cohesive representation of who we are to the world. This is why it is very important to know yourself and what you wish to convey to others.

Having more than one decorator or designer can create a confusing story, but having a single decorator or designer who has an overall view of who you are and what you want will be a dynamic expression of yourself.

Let us start from the side of the home;

We will usually have our home decor based on the color pallet of the walls in the home or the floor design of the home.

HGTV has on their website 11 steps that their Interior designers look for. Katie Leavy from Capital Design in Washington DC says “The first step being the purpose of your room; will it be used for a family comfort or for entertaining guests.”

Reader’s Digest in a blog “What Interior Designers notice as they enter your home” say’s “The first thing that I look at is the space” Founder and interior designer at Designs Mac.

We hear from The Spruce Decorating 101 Interior Design Basics by AphroChic that there is a distinct difference between interior designers and interior decorating.  The clear distinction is training and the focal point which is trying to be cultivated.so when looking for assistance with your design keep this in mind.

So when looking for assistance with your design keep this in mind.

fine art by Nikki ShivaWhen I am deciding the art for clients business, office or home, I will take into consideration the color pallet of my surroundings, the floor design as well what has been expressed to me ( likes and dislikes, style of the client are they contemporary, or classic, conservative or visual.

An artwork is an intimate way of expressing oneself. We tend to show our vulnerability, strengths, passions, weaknesses, and desires when we choose to project our surroundings as fine art.

What appeals to some may not appeal to others and it is for this reason that art is such a personal thing.

When you come from a spiritual point of view the cohesion of your home, business, and office decor matters.  I decided to look on Pinterest and saw that everything matters in spiritual decor every nook and cranny says something about the person!

Now when we step outside of our office, business or home we want to make sure our landscape also conveys the same message, so picking a landscape designer who listens, is detail oriented and creative is important.

When I visited Billings Landscaping website what caused me to look further into what they could offer was what they said about their designers “We strive to provide unique landscapes that accentuate your home” because it is important to me that the exterior of my home and business matches the interior as well as myself.

Taking some time to do some will help you to find a designer that will bring to light what matters most to you. In turn, you will be able to share that outwardly with your clients, your family, and your friends.

Through calculated steps and coordinated decor placement, you will be able to make a concise insight into who you are and what you represent.

Art in Billings Montana

There is a new wave of art in Billings Montana thanks to the Traffic signal box program put on by the Billings Downtown Art Committee.  The program was created to beautify the downtown area with local artist’s artwork. The members of the program will commission an artist to create an art piece to be used on the traffic signal boxes. This year I was nominated and will have my art piece shown! I am very excited and wanted to share this exciting news. The art piece is set to show on Sept 17th! I will provide more information once we get closer to the date and the unveiling! Hurrah!!

Arts where it’s at

Arts where it’s art

So is arts where it’s at? I would have to say “Yes” why?

abstract gallery art piece by Nikki Shiva
Quantum Leap

Art is our way of sharing beauty with the world, yet it is also how we express ourselves. When you think of history from the beginning of humanity there has been art.  Cave art has been found around the world and scientist have shown that it was a way to express what the artist saw around them and express their creativity.prehistoric cave art as abstract art prehistoric cave art as abstract art

They have found 350 prehistoric art caves between France and Spain dating as far back as 25000 years ago preceding the end of the last ice age.  There are cave art depicting beings which aren’t familiar to us in our present time which leaves room to question was this their form of abstract art or something far more intriguing?

We say arts where it’s at because we see how we use art to another world into our reality like the wonderful artists create doing street art.

3D artWe have leaped into a time where we can create 180 viewed art pieces which simulate a repetitive pattern.

In our current age art has taken on many forms, from 2D to 3D and we have only touched the surface. Art is where it’s at because art is our direct outlet and unique to each individual person.

We have used art to share our fears, dreams, and aspirations from the beginning of time and we are not done yet.

Now that we have created the 3D printer man can set his reach further into the abyss of possibilities and truly let his imagination run wild.  To be an artist in the 21 century is an exciting gift for we are creating in untapped places and break boundaries set by a time with limited access and consciousness. Today we excel in the art field making “art where it’s at” by utilizing all of the gifts given to man.

“Light and Sound”

The original symbol of life and death
“The Birth of Pheonix” by ShivaSly The original symbol life and death

Once upon a time there was a girl  named “Light” who was the  daughter and keeper of time and space. One day “Light” decided to wander through the dimensions to see what existed in other realms. She found a dimension filled with color and stopped to admire its beauty.
She suddenly realized that it wasn’t just the brilliant colors that had pulled her into the new dimension, but something which she had heard. Curious she found herself hypnotized and in swift pursuit of the strange calling. Louder and louder the calling thundered in her ears urging her on; until she turned a corner and stopped in her tracks.

Hypnotizing by ShivaSly
“Hypnotizing Sound” by ShivaSly An abstract image of “Sound”

There on a hill stood a boy who seemed to glow brightly, and with his back to her he continued singing a song that flooded everything around him with color; his very presence made all of the beings near him dance and laugh with joy.
“Light” felt moved and called out to him asking who he was; upon hearing her voice he turned, smiled and said his name was “Sound.”
“Light” was mesmerized by “Sound’s” beauty and voice, and wanted to learn all that she could about him. She stayed with him in his dimension for some time enchanted by him, and him with her, until she told him that she must leave, but would return one day to him.

Our universe as first light breaking through the darkness
“A Star is Born” by ShivaSly This piece is to represent what our universe looked like when first light broke through the darkness

“Light” continued on with her journey through the many dimensions learning all that she could about the other universes and galaxies. “Light” found a world filled with illusions and adventure, and she became rather content there; until one day when she felt an aching pain within her heart.
“Light” felt a stirring within, as if something was urging her to turn back in time, and as she turned around she began to remember her past.
“Light” decided she must leave immediately. As she moved through space and time (with a feeling  of her essence fading) she searched on and on with an awareness of impending dome which held strong to her chest. “Light” pressed on as fast as she could, unsure of what was happening, and feeling quite drained she decided to stop and rest; upon doing so a vision of “Sound”  formed within her mind.
In the vision, “Sound” told her that he could no longer wait for her and needed to leave his dimension and begin on his travel to the next dimension.

The Glory to the ankh” by ShivaSly The Ankh is the symbol of light and life “The Glory to the Ankh” is on display at the Billings, MT YAM (Yellowstone Art Museum)

“Sound” kissed her head in the vision and as he did an image appeared on “Lights” chest.
As the vision disappeared “Light” awoke and knew that “Sound” had left his world.
“Light” sat in silence accepting that her friend was gone and bent her head feeling sad that she had been gone for so long. Then an image caught her eye and she saw the gift that “Sound” had left behind for her.
“Light” looked up and shed a tear and put her hand to her chest where “Sound” had left a symbol of the bond they had on her heart.
“Light” felt honored, and to commemorate “Sounds” essence, “Light” created another image and placed it alongside the symbol he left on her chest. “Light” vowed to wear both images through infinity.
Light and Sound have remained bond throughout time, known to all within the secret teachings of the universe, as the symbols “Aum and Ankh”; Sound and Lifeforce.

Abstract Expressionism

Abstract Expressionism using Fractals

Abstract Expressionism is a form of symbolism. Expressionistic art relates to our physical world and distorts it for the sake of creativity. Abstract art attempts to be separate from the physical world altogether. But the reality is that people connect with art by relating to it in some way, so there was a need to define a new art movement, hence the creation of abstract expressionism.

Abstract Expressionism by ShivaSly™

Abstract Expressionistic art by ShivaSly is unique in that the artist Nikki Shiva believes that art should create beauty and upliftment. Facilitating happiness, creativity, passion, and beauty is the goal of Shivasly art. Since abstract expressionism is meant to evoke emotion, it follows that the emotions an artist would desire to evoke in others should reflect love. In order to stay connected to that inner harmony, the artist uses fractals derived from mathematics as a foundation for her abstract expressions. The expressionistic aspects of her art appeals to the viewer by drawing relationships to the relative world while the abstract aspect expands the creative mind to connect it with the spirit. The result is a naturally euphoric feeling of well being.

SHIVA SLY "ANIMAL SPIRIT"

Can art impress your guests?

Can art impress your guests?

Can a piece of art help you impress your guests?
Many people do not realize the influence that an art piece can have on company; yet art is found in every business, home, restaurant and even theme park. Art is the greeting that everyone has before they meet you and it communicates an aspect of what you have to offer.
Your art is part of an introduction you have chosen to represent you, much like the clothes you wear or the style of you hair. But your art also represents more than that because it is also connected to a place.
They say that a person can size another person within thirty seconds of meeting someone. If this is true, wouldn’t it be important for you (as a successful being) to have your environment do the same for you?

A ShivaSly original piece
A ShivaSly original piece

So how can a piece of art help you impress your guests? Let’s take a moment and contemplate.
How often have you judged an establishment by it’s architecture? How often has the landscape been a factor? What about the secretary or front desk representative? A sales representative? A hostess? A maitre d’? A chef or housewife?
Everything directly reflects upon the owner of that establishment. It all contributes to the overall image. Yet art is a focal point, so it follows that you will want to take it seriously.
Does a piece of art help you to impress you guests as A CENTER PIECENow look around your business or home and ask yourself “Does my art epitomize what I want to convey about myself (or my business) to others?” “Does it exemplify what I desire to communicate?”
I have been traveling for many years with this thought in mind when I enter a home or place of business and I am constantly asking myself how much thought was put into an art piece when it was picked.
I love to enter a hotel or business and be “wowed”! It makes me want to interact with the establishment or connect with the owner.

A business friend of mine said, “I feel it is important that our goal be to create a reaction of awe, or dare I say a “regal personification” to our guests.”
What you will find with Shivasly art is that I strive to empower you with uniqueness, style, and a cutting edge presence that will represent you well to others.
Your art should tell your clients or guests that this is a person with a unique flare which they should want to know.

Reflections:  Art Decor

ART Decor reflecting and animal spirit
Animal Spirit reflects the heart of a dragon. The being who would want this piece in their home would have a decor of a fiery energy. This person would be passionate and speaks through the heart.

Your art decor reflects who you are. A personas art decor is reflective of their creativity, personality and subconscious. In as the same way as ones taste in art decor represents ones self. When I create art I think about how diverse the world is and aim to show that diversity in each piece. Every art piece which is created is made to allude to someones personal style and there is sure to be one which will allude to yours. People love art and if asked there are a variety of different reasons; yet when you view a persons response from a distance it seems that the art piece actually speaks to the person. There seems to be an emotional connection which captivates the person. This is why so many feel a connection with an art piece.

It is the inner dialect which makes you and the art piece one.

Our Universe and Art

Our universe at its birth.
Our universe at its birth.

Our universe and art

A few days ago I watched a spiritual documentary which stated that the universe is geometrically based on circles, triangles, cones, ovals and lines. In the world today many do not realize that geometry is the base of our universe; yet it is shown very clearly in our art. When we look around us everything seems to be born with the embodiment of sacred geometric designs within it.

Our universe as first light breaking through the darkness
Our universe as first light breaking through the darkness

This sacred knowledge of the cosmos seems to be hidden within our souls and is shown within our artwork and creative expressions. Within the artistic patterns which we create there seems to be a release at a subconscious level of our spiritual connection with the world and with our universe.

Our universe hidden behind a closed door within our subconscious mind
Our universe hidden behind a closed door within our subconscious mind

We inadvertently expose our deeper remembrance of our divine self through our art, structures and creativity. When we take the time to look around us we will see a global consciousness sharing its love, wisdom and birth in a never ending kaleidoscope of colors, patterns, and dimensions.  Always growing, always expanding. always expressing and always reflecting itself. Art is our way of showing that God lives within us and is creating through us and showing this truth in everything that we do.

Our universe as a spiritual energy
Our universe as a spiritual energy

If you have ever question where your creativity comes from look around you. If you have ever questioned the connect “math” has to the universe, look around you. Most artists can tell you that when they create an art piece it is usually fueled by some inner need to express themselves, but very few will say they see the correlation to “math.” As we grow we will begin to truly connect our true selves and all of the sacred knowledge hidden within us will then shine through. This will be a time of great healing when the universal conscious mind awakens to all things being one! Here is a link with a more information about mathematics and art which you may enjoy!

Fractal Art and Nature

COSMOS SHOWING THE FIBONACCI. ART AND NATUREFractal art and nature

How are fractal art and nature alike?

When someone looks at nature they do not usually think of math, yet math as “algorithm”  is everywhere we look.  Most do not know of the “fibonacci sequence or fibonacci series” and its relation to the Phi, but this pattern is everywhere.

SUNFLOWER SHOWING THE FIBONACCI SEQUENCE NATURE AND ART It is in the flower that we gaze at with awe and is in the cosmos, when we are staring at the stars. How can this be? and what is the fibonacci sequence?

The fibonacci sequence was first recognized being discussed in the 12th century. Leonardo Fibonacci wrote about it in Liber Abaci. He wrote of a simple numerical sequence which is the incredible mathematical relation behind the PHI. What is amazing is that although it is known today as the fibonacci in dedication to the forthcoming knowledge given to the west by Leonardo Fibonacci. We now know that is dates back to the 6 century AD as knowledge known by Indian mathematicians, North Africa and the Mediterranean.

PHI SYMBOLPHI “Φ” = 1.618033988749895,  is important because it is an irrational number like “pi” p= 3.14159265358979 but one with unusual mathematical properties.  Where pi is a transcendental  number, phi is the solution to a quadratic equation.

Now when we take into account the phi and the fibonacci in nature we understand that there is a common pattern platform governing the design of nature and the cosmos.

RED CABBAGE SHOWING THE FIBONACCI AND FRACTAL ARTOur world is created in a  beautiful design  and she moves in the rhythm of the Golden Ratio. The golden ratio appears in geometry, art, architecture, plants and even our food. We find the golden ratio when we we divide a line into two parts so that;

The whole length is divided by the long part  is also equal to the long part divided by the short part.

LEONARDO DAVINCIS GOLDEN RATIO PIC WITH NATURE AND FRACTAL ARTThe Golden Ratio is the greek symbol PHI. You can  find the sequence of the golden ratio everywhere. Scientists have even proven that the golden ratio is found on the human body first shown by Leonardo Da Vinci  in his art pieces “The Mona Lisa and The Vitruvian Man” and several other pieces that he created.

Throughout history especially during the renaissance time  artist  and architects who were also alchemists like Da Vinci  (1451-1519) made a point of appreciating the golden ratio sequence and it is seen in the structures and art  pieces created by them during that time.

All around us the golden ratio sequence or series is reflective within our world. Many people focus on the underlying balance of the fibonacci series and the golden ratio when they design or choose  their home by the plants that they admire, and by the art that they choose; although very few realize that it is the pattern of the golden ratio which prompts their passion,  admiration and desires.

PIET MONDRIAN PAINTING OF GEOMETRY ART AND NATUREA modern Dutch artist Piet Mondrian (1872-1944) was a deep believer  that math and art were connected. His art pieces of landscapes and abstract art  reflected that.  He like Da Vinci used art to express his logic, nature and point of view.  Mondrian felt any shape is possible to create with basic geometric shapes. The Golden Ratio is one of the basic shapes continuously appearing in his work.

What many do not realize is that fractal art is not new, it just has a new name and is created a little different, but the format is still the same.

COSMIC PORTAL 1Fractal art by Shivasly is the art of our world being given a new expression through the programmer’s knowledge of algorithms which are written to emulate nature and are expressed through the designer’s sense of style, color, scale, proportion,  relation, imagination and human expression.

We are the Universe

We are the universe.
YOU ARE THE UNIVERSE WITHIN UAs we continue on in this life; we begin to feel a deeper connection to the universe.
We begin to remember that our existence did not begin on this earth, but somewhere else.
THE UNIVERSE AS YOU AREIt may seem strange to some that you could have a feeling of missing a home that is not of this world.
It may seem different to some that being bound to the earth by “gravity” is considered normal to others.
It could be that the saying is true’ that some  people are “asleep” while others are “awake”.
What is becoming quite clear is that there is a kaleidoscope of events playing out which gives the appearance of multiple dimensions.
THOR AS THE UNIVERSE WITHINFrom the scientist discovering that we have the very makeup of the universe within our DNA.

To the ancient religions, myths, and folklores telling us of our place in the cosmos.
We see it in our movies being played out by our favorite characters.
We hear it in our mantras and prayers repeated in religious circles. Everywhere we look there is a reminder of the existence of the “more” we feel within our very core.
We have had the pleasure of the “wise” bringing concrete evidence to us by watching nature and studying the tiniest microcosmos.
We have even shared it with others through our art.
YOU ARE THE UNIVERSE WITHINWe now take layers upon layers and magnify deep within an art piece to show you how intricate the subconscious mind of an artist  can expand and release itself.
“Dare to dream and dare to be” is the time we live in. A time where nothing is removed from itself but is instead aware of being a part of the larger self. The unconscious has become the subconscious mind conscious, and in love with itself.
Take a look at the universe and see yourself as you really are.
